Textile expert George Hall brings over 20 years of senior level experience in the fashion industry, with expertise in design, merchandising, trend forecasting and global fabric sourcing. Leveraging his background in product development for department stores as well as big box retailers, George’s strength is in brand building, based on extensive product knowledge and the ability to capitalize on market opportunities. Career achievements include research and development of new and emerging sources for textiles, streamlining of design and sourcing processes, and systems management resulting in shortened lead times and cost reductions.
Having served at both AMC and Target, George brings extensive expertise in the retail marketplace, with a focus on better and mass market. In his most recent role as Vice President Fabric Research and Development for Macy’s private brands, George pioneered the fabric consolidation process, which resulted in both improved quality and significant cost savings. He also developed essential corporate training programs focusing on raw materials.
As Vice President Design and Merchandising for Sae-A Trading (1.6 billion $ annual revenues; manufacturing in 10 countries throughout the world), George’s clients included Target, Wal-Mart Stores, Kohl’s and major big box retailers. His responsibilities included a direct sales business with revenues of over $170 million.
George is currently an adjunct professor of Textiles and Product Development at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. He is also the founder of PremiereTex, an online training resource created to train employees in the fundamentals of textiles and raw materials essential to product development. PremiereTex is a comprehensive educational program designed for the retail and garment industry.
